Tarkov Late Spawns Have Sadly Returned
(Intro) On March 27th, the developers of Tarkov put out the update for version 1.0.4 which introduced some interesting changes across the board. Balance adjustments to many different elements of the game, attempts at optimization with some pain points players have been experiencing, and making lots of fixes to things that you may or may not have dealt with. However, while these changes are appreciated and definitely larger than I figured any patch going forward would be, the main focus of this patch was to address the long queue and load times when entering raids. And their attempts at reducing how long it takes to load into raids have ultimately resorted in a rather unfortunate side effect of old Tarkov returning for the worse. Late spawns have sadly returned, and it seems that from personal experience after this patch, my attempts to get into a single raid before it starts are futile. So, let’s go over late spawns being in Tarkov once again, whether or not this is a bug or again, an unfortunate side effect of them trying to speed up the process in general, and what can be done to maybe tackle this problem. It sucked years ago when it was around, now it’s even more apparent and even more annoying than it was before.

'Medabots' Had Games!?
The 1999 anime Medabots is one of my all-time favorites. However, until recently, I hadn't played the games the anime was adapting. Around the time of its English broadcast, the only game I was aware of was Medabots: Metabee & Rokusho for Game Boy Advance. I was not too fond of this game when I was younger because the motion tweening used in its battle animations was stilted compared to the fluid animation featured in the anime. Unbeknownst to me, Medabots: Metabee & Rokusho was a remake of Medarot 2, so in other words, there were other games. Two decades later, I discovered that not only were there more games, but the Medabots fan community was in the process of translating them. Thankfully, most Medarot games are Game Boy titles with less off-putting battle animations.

When You Finally Understand Tarkov
Tarkov as we all know, is easily one of the hardest extraction shooters to learn. But just as a game with tons of systems and mechanics layered on top of each other, it’s incredibly daunting to even try to figure out the basics, especially as a new player. But one thing is for sure, when all the gears in your head start working together, raids become less stressful due to a sheer lack of information and critical knowledge and you can just play and appreciate Tarkov for what it is; when you finally get Tarkov, there is no better feeling in the world. The maps are coherent and make sense; attachments, weapons, and ammunition aren’t this periodic table that you need to figure out, and you start to just appreciate the game for what it is, despite all its flaws and shortcomings. No game is perfect, and Tarkov has a ton of issues still relevant from years ago, but there is something special about understanding this game at a deeper level. Because what happens then, is if you’re a weirdo like me, you go against the grain and use wacky weapon setups, armors or play in an obtuse style. There’s nothing wrong with playing to win and succeed, but there is something cool about intentionally not playing at a full capacity and being able to still extract and survive. The learning process for Escape From Tarkov is as tough as it gets, but it’s easily one of the most rewarding and satisfying experiences out there.

Sometimes You Just Can’t Win in Tarkov
(Intro) Extraction shooters are an incredibly dynamic and reactive genre of shooter. No two experiences usually play out the exact same way, and whenever things get hot and heavy fast, there are a lot of factors both inside and outside of your direct control that determine whether you walk away or get sent back to your stash prematurely. And in the case of Tarkov especially, the losses are the most brutal out there because they can happen so quickly. One minute you are taking names, collecting gear and getting quests done, and then all of a sudden, you’re back to your stash within thirty seconds of a raid multiple times in a row. Whether that’s because of missed shots, poor positioning, or just some really bad luck, the entire point of extraction shooters is to get back on the horse even when you are down and out. Perseverance is the name of the game; even when you feel like you’re just failing again and again. You can’t always be successful in this genre; and it may feel hopeless sometimes, but it’s okay. Eventually, things will fall into place, and you’ll be back in the green in no time.
