they reflect the whole wide world
mischief weaving rainbow streaks
wide-brimmed sun shelter, turquoise-cold pool
and sunglasses to cool
fiery blood
fur filled with joy
the other dogs could be jealous of our love
they flock behind the gate
no entry, I’m afraid
