Worth the Wait: Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica
Beach bumming in a small Caribbean beach town sounded like a perfect way to end our 6-month trip through Mexico and Central America. Or so we thought. The foul, fishy stench of rotten seaweed hit our nostrils as we stepped from the cramped bus and looked out at a rather depressing, empty, and underwhelming black sand beach. Mid-winter Friday night. Early but already so dark. The days are getting longer but 6 PM is still pitch black. “Firepit!” You declare things after just a few seconds of solemn thought – not a request or suggestion, not a demand. Last week you walked around saying, “Hot tub?” to anyone who would listen. Or one afternoon you pointed at two men holding hands as they crossed 12th Avenue, looked me in the eyes and said, “Boyfriends.”

It was about halfway into my seven-week study abroad in rural Kenya that I realized I had not journaled a single time throughout the experience thus far. But even as I sat down that very evening, determined to commit some vital memories and reflections to my journal, I knew I wouldn't make much headway; there was a part of me that was opposed to trying to record this particular journey there. I wanted it to remain separate, unique, untouched by my 'ordinary' life back in upstate New York. In the end, I came away with not even one whole pageful of words.

The Rise and Fall of Six Flags America
The first time I went to Six Flags was when I was 13, me and my siblings we were in Summer Camp in 2009. We go to pools every Friday and field trips like for instance, Washington Mystics WNBA game which was our first field trip. It was the last field trip before the end of summer camp. We went to the Six Flags in Bowie and we had the most upmost fun going fun rides including the roller coasters (mind you it’s my first time riding roller coasters at the time) after we rode on the rides including the water parks. My favorite ride at Six Flags was the Drop Zone and the Hurricane Harbor where the sharp waves come up and down and it became my all time favorite.

As an avid birder, I often capture their flight patterns on film, but for this particular prompt, the whoosh, I found my task a bit tricky, especially with the speed of the implied word.

Wade Barrett :
Wade Barrett hailing from Manchester, England and rising up in the ranks of bare knuckle boxing Wade Barrett whose birthname Alexander Bennett would go on to become a star in the WWE wrestling entertainment and my favourite wrestler. Britain and the United Kingdom has offered and given some fine talented wrestlers in the past such as The British Bull Dogs and Wade Barrett in recent years. Unfortunately, the WWE didn't know with a talent like Wade Barrett. First he was a wrestler and leader of the Nexus, then he had a rivalry with John Cena which led to my cousin who was big on John Cena to have a friendly rivalry too, then they had him being an announcer. For the brief moment that his star as a performing wrestler shined he was like a supernova of ass kicking greatness and as I just said and example of the fine wrestling talent that England has to offer to the world at large.
