I'm the guy who knows every last fact about Spider-man and if I don't I'll track it down. I love bad movies, enjoy table-top gaming, and probably would drive you crazy if you weren't ready for it.

Sparrow on a Plank Chapter 21: The Day Before the Morning After
Lord Ashigaru was amused. As he ate a leg of pork, he was reminded of the last operative that had given him news that was inaccurate. He knew that the item wasn't near some cannibal tribe; the last cannibal tribe on Jezreel had been “forcibly retired” almost a century ago; cannibals just don't work well with civilized society. The operative had been forced to help in the kitchen as punishment; Bubastos wasn't necessarily that civilized. The leg was delicious with a little brown gravy.

Popularity Versus Art and The Shrouds We Cover Them With
The best artists are those who look at things as they are, not as they want them to be. However, sometimes they need to deal with shrouds that obscure judgment. The first type of shroud surrounds popular media, as popularity creates a shroud for the item that is popular, a shroud that both attracts fanaticism (so that anyone criticizing is wrong) and the wrong kind of criticism (if it's popular, well, art can not be popular, and there are those that wish to prove their artistic integrity by bringing down anything popular). The second type of shroud surrounds art, sometimes making something seem more artistic than it really is.

Tattoos and Rail Guns Chapter 20: Stairs and Treaties Are Negotiated
The Rochester-Fallon had not fared well during the cataclysm, a fact that Walker was beginning to appreciate. The lobby had been ransacked, with tiles and carpet shredded and destroyed and the desk itself was smashed. The elevators were definitely out, with doors broken down and cables hung down the shafts. This forced them to use the stairs, which were a ramshackle mess, with handrails barely hanging onto the walls and trash filling the stairwells. Given that the building was a hundred floors or so tall, they prepared for a slog.

I See Nothing But Dead People: The Ghostspeaker Wizard Sublcass
Xubachithl looked at the restrained wizard in front of him as he completed the ritual. The mage had secured his defenses with his physical presence; his body was his passkey. In moments, he would wear the mage’s skin as his own while the mage’s soul was trapped in the jar before him; the mage’s bastion would be his. Undead swarmed around them, the mage’s servants trying to rescue him, but as long as they were within the circle, he was safe. He had already animated some zombies to act as a distraction, but they were long gone.

Let's Nail A Cyberbully
Technology can make life easier, and usually everyone benefits from technological advances. However, this always means that the bad guys benefit as well, to the detriment of society as a whole. As social media became a thing, it gave rise to the cyberbully, a malicious person who uses social media and other technologies to harass their victims. However, while their attacks can be devastating to the right victims, usually those lacking self-confidence or who have been recently victimized, there are ways to deal with them and get back some of the peace you had prior to their attacks.

Brass Ring Interlude 5: The Importance of Being Earnest
Fleaboy jumped between buildings. He liked that Overton didn’t have any skyscrapers; it made his particular mode of travel that much easier. He liked the wind rushing through his hair; he had even designed his mask so that he could feel the wind as he jumped, and had to keep his hair at a very specific length (too long and it whipped in his face, too short and he missed the sensation). He flipped with every jump so he could see if someone was in trouble. Fortunately, today was mostly boring. Weird, considering the panic the capes community is in.

Sparrow on a Plank Chapter 19: Of Sparrows, Pirates, and...Vikings?
Back on Cyrill, Prince Ta was smiling to himself. He had long ago realized that Lord Ashigaru would be his opponent on this, and so had started a dossier on him. It was easy for him to keep a step ahead of the reptilian lord; Prince Ta didn't limit his thinking to what he thought his role was, and therefore was open to ideas that he would otherwise reject. He also treated his operatives with respect, and allowed that failure was an option. After all, if you send someone on a difficult assignment then it was likely that at sometime that someone would need to fail; it was just a matter of odds, and the odds didn't play favorites. He smiled, just a little thing on his lips, as he wondered how Lord Ashigaru would feel if Bubastos' high lord ever realized that his waffles were his weakness; without his daily waffles, his entire day was shot. They were part of his daily ritual, and something that needed to be changed.

Tattoos and Rail Guns Chapter 19: Cavetown Orphans and Water Usage
Kev and the two lieutenants had been following the cavern for a few miles. The cavern may have been natural but had been reinforced over time. The supports were ramshackle at best but seemed to be doing the job. They did seem to be a little dustier than a cavern should be; there was no visible water either, which was weird considering that the cavern was obviously caused by erosion.
