25 Eldritch Invocations: New Tricks For Warlocks

Dangerous Stew

Prerequisite: Proficiency with Cooking Utensils

You can cook using poisonous natural ingredients (flora and fauna only) and the poison is neutralized for that meal. You can only use this invocation once per short rest.

Demon Steed

Prerequisite: Level 5+ Warlock

You can cast find steed without using a spell slot. The animal summoned is jet black.

Devil’s Bargain

When you are in charge of a negotiation, you get a 10% discount off the negotiated price.

Eldritch Gift

Prerequisite: Level 5+ Warlock

You can conjure a small present worth up to your Warlock level in gold once per short rest. The object is permanent.

Elemental Blast

Prerequisite: Level 2+ Warlock, a Warlock cantrip That Deals Damage

Choose one of your Warlock cantrips that does damage and has a range greater than 10’. Pick an element from Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, Thunder; the cantrip does an additional +1d4 of that element when used. The element choice cannot be changed.

Friend to All Animals

Prerequisite: Level 2+ Warlock

You can cast speak with animals without expending a spell slot.

Ghost of Nature

Prerequisite: Level 2+ Warlock

You can cast invisibility without using a spell slot. However, it only works against beasts, oozes, and plants.

Gift of Squirrels

Prerequisite: Level 5+ Warlock

You gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed. You can also eat acorns safely.

Gifted Mechanic

Prerequisites: Level 5+ Warlock, proficiency with tools

Given an hour, you can fix any small item for which you have proficiency with the correct tools. If you’re repairing a vehicle, you can repair 5 hit points.

Hound of Doom

Prerequisite: Tome of the Chain invocation

You can use find familiar to summon a dire wolf with see invisible.

Literary Magic

Prerequisite: Pact of the Tome invocation

You can cast notebook without using a spell slot.

Haunted Building

Prerequisite: 12+ Level Warlock

You can cast guards and wards without using a spell slot once per Long Rest.

Hurled Object

You can telekinetically hurl a small object (book, mug, plates) at a target for 1d4 damage as an attack. The object must be within 5’ of you and the range is 30’.

Magical Snack

You can create a small snack, giving you a +2 Bonus to Charisma checks and 1 temporary hit point. You may use this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per short rest.

Savage Attack

Prerequisites: Level 5+ Warlock, Pact of the Chain invocation

Your familiar can attack once without using one of your attacks.

Scholar’s Hack

When you choose this invocation pick a proficiency based on Intelligence or Wisdom. When you use this invocation, you gain advantage using that proficiency. You can choose this invocation more than once, but it applies to a different proficiency each time.

Spirit Servant

You can cast unseen servant without using a spell slot.

Spirit Speed

Prerequisite: Level 5+ Warlock

You can cast haste without using a spell slot. You can use this ability once per Short Rest.

Squad of One

Prerequisite: Level 12+ Warlock

Two duplicates of you appear for three turns. They attack the same target as you and can use the Help action. They can only use physical attacks and act on your turn.

Stretching Reach

Prerequisite: Pact of the Blade invocation

Any weapon with Reach that you wield in combat is effective to 10’ instead of 5’.

Sudden Literacy

You can read a book just by touching it. This takes ten minutes and can be used once per short rest.

Summon Elemental Friend

Prerequisite: Level 9+ Warlock, Pact of the Chain invocation

You can cast conjure elemental without using a spell slot once per long rest.

Throat Choke

Prerequisite: Level 7+ Warlock

You can Grapple someone at a range of up to 30’. While you hold them, they take 1d4+Charsima Bonus force damage per turn. You use your Charisma bonus instead of Strength Bonus. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Charisma bonus per Long Rest.

Unnatural Scout

Prerequisite: Level 5+ Warlock

You gain Advantage on a number of Stealth and Survival checks equal to your Charisma bonus. Unused uses recharge on a Short Rest.

Wall Crawler

Prerequisite: Level 5+ Warlock

You can cast spider climb without using a spell slot.
